How to search the database
Type your search term in the appropriate field and click Search.
To revise your search terms, use the Modify search button to edit your search.

Brings results that contain at least one of your search words, but may not contain all of them.
This exact phrase
Limits results to the exact words you entered.

Search by name of author. Enter the name in any order. |
| Title keyword(s) |
Search the title field. |
| Subject keyword(s) |
Search the subject field, which contains standard subject headings and/or subject keywords. (Not all theses records include a subject field.) |
| Abstract keyword(s) |
Search the abstract field. (Not all theses records have abstracts.) |
| Degree |
Filter by type of degree. The options are:

| University |
Start typing a school name to see the options. |
| Date |
Limit your search by the year an institution published a thesis or granted a degree. You can also set a range of years.
Note that publication year and the year a university grants a degree can be different.

| Language |
Limit your search by the language of the thesis. The drop-down list only includes languages with more than 40 examples in the collection. |
| Available online |
Filter by whether the theses is available online or not. |
Your search results
Sort and filter results
You can limit your results in the left hand menu by Date, language, university, Degree, and whether a theses is available online.

Record display
Click on the title to get to the record in Aurora.
Click on the author's name to see other theses by the same author in the Theses Canada collection.
Find copies
If the thesis is available online, click the link in the digital copy field.
If the thesis is not available online, click on the title to check access options in Aurora.
Print and microform holdings is not included in the Theses Canada database. Use Aurora to see the holdings data and to request items from our collection. Click on the OCLC number in the record to open it in Aurora.
