Order copies of theses and search other collections
Find copies of theses or dissertations that are not available in digital format or that are not in our collection.
How to obtain non-digital theses
If the record for the thesis or dissertation you need doesn't include a full-text link, go to our library catalogue Aurora. Search Aurora to find location and availability information for microform and print formats. From the Theses Canada Search record display, you can click on the OCLC number to open the record in Aurora. The Order published material page provides more information about how to request items in Aurora.
You can only view microform copies in our reading room at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa. Make your request in Aurora a couple of days in advance. This will ensure that material is available on the date of your visit. We'll deliver requested materials to the pick-up shelves on the third floor. While on site, you can use Aurora to request other theses. We'll deliver additional theses to the pick-up shelves within two to three working hours.
Make the most of your visit by consulting the Services for the Public page

Find theses and dissertations in other Canadian libraries
You can search other Canadian libraries using Voilà, the National Union Catalogue. Within Voilà, limit the results by format to retrieve only theses and dissertations.
Most Canadian universities publish copies of their theses and dissertations in their institutional repositories. They may have published theses we have not yet obtained. See the list below for links to individual university repositories.
