1925-2025: A Century in Canada House

If you find yourself at Trafalgar Square in London, England, before August 30, 2025, be sure to visit Canada House to explore the new exhibition 1925–2025: A Century in Canada House.

A collaboration between Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, this exhibition marks the centenary of Canada’s presence in Canada House—our nation’s diplomatic home in London since 1925.

Through intriguing past-present comparisons, it invites visitors to discover Canada House and its role in bringing a little bit of Canada to Trafalgar Square over the last hundred years.

The exhibition features images, documents and film clips from across LAC’s collection, including unexpected archival finds, as well as many original artifacts from Canada House and a never-before-exhibited work of art by emerging Carcross/Tagish First Nation artist Violet Gatensby.

Before leaving, visitors are invited to become part of the exhibition by contributing a personalized maple leaf to its final element: a symbolic artwork representing Canadian diversity.
