Cataloguing in Publication data block

After we receive an eligible request for Cataloguing in Publication (CIP) for a forthcoming book, we create a bibliographic description in MARC format. This description appears in the library catalogues Aurora, Voilà and WorldCat. After preparing the full description of the book, we then create the CIP data block, which is a brief summary of this description. Libraries with an OCLC Cataloguing and Metadata subscription may download bibliographic and authority MARC records created through the CIP program.
