Film Screening – Know Her Name

Library and Archives Canada invites you to a special film screening and panel celebrating the powerful women in cinema whose names deserve to be known and remembered.

This event will feature the screening of Know Her Name, followed by a short panel conversation between Leslie Weir, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, and Know Her Name’s director/producer Zainab Muse and producer Heidi Lasi.

Film description

Know Her Name delves into the legacy of filmmakers and uncovers the mysteries behind why women, especially women from underrepresented communities, have been forgotten in discussions of film and erased through historical amnesia – and how to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen to contemporary filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, now and in the future.
