Did you know that the first hockey game officially recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation was played in Montréal 150 years ago on March 3, 1875? To mark this anniversary, Library and Archives Canada (LAC), in collaboration with Gatineau’s public library and the Gatineau Olympiques, invites you to Together at LAC: Hockey Day.

During the festivities celebrating this legendary game, you will be able to:

  • Meet some of LAC’s experts and explore our collections
  • Test your knowledge with various themed games
  • Participate in arts and crafts activities
  • Meet players from the Gatineau Olympiques (from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Take part in story time animated by Gatineau’s public library and explore its collections

Above all, don't forget to show your colours and wear your favourite hockey jersey!
