New ATIP progress report – June 2025
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) has published its latest progress report highlighting its efforts on access to information and privacy (ATIP).
This sixth update outlines the progress made since the release of its ATIP action plan in August 2022. This ambitious plan was launched after an investigation by the Information Commissioner of Canada into LAC’s difficulties in meeting the timelines set out in the Access to Information Act.
Having implemented a range of measures to improve the effectiveness of its ATIP work, LAC continues to share its positive results.
In addition, LAC is announcing the launch of a database that allows users to search and download completed access to information requests on archival records from its collections. This resource aims to enhance transparency by providing direct self-serve access to public records.
