Listener guidelines

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) wants everyone to feel comfortable leaving comments about our podcasts. Please read our rules for polite and respectful discussions. LAC recognizes the rights of the owners of the content used in our podcasts.

The "Discover Library and Archives Canada: Your History, Your Documentary Heritage" podcast is produced by LAC. Episodes look at a variety of materials and themes in the collections held at LAC, including:

  • Indigenous Peoples
  • immigration
  • transportation
  • genealogy
  • military and peacekeeping
  • government

Ways to listen

You may subscribe through the button located on our podcast web page, or visit Apple Podcasts or wherever else you listen to podcasts. You may also download the audio files (MP3) to your computer.

Moderation policy

We welcome your comments and do not discriminate against views that are respectful. We cannot discuss party politics or answer questions that break the rules of our moderation policy. We reserve the right to remove comments or block people from making further comments containing inappropriate content.

Leave a comment wherever you listen to LAC podcasts.

Comments must:

  • be written in either English or French
  • follow the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
  • respect copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • be sent by a person (not from anonymous or robot accounts)
  • respect personal privacy

Comments must not:

  • be racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting or threatening
  • be abusive, aggressive, vulgar, violent, obscene or pornographic
  • encourage illegal activity or try to defraud a business or agency
  • solicit, advertise or recommend a business or agency
  • be serious accusations that are unproven, unsupported or inaccurate
  • be announcements from labour or political organizations
